I think there is a huge difference between gambling at a casino, online, etc than your own baseball team as a manager. It's the 8th inning tied up and Pete has money on the game. He can bring in his closer to pitch two innings today but lose him for the next two games, what does he do? He has money on the game and brings him in, and says the hell with the next two games.
